SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO-AM) - Voters in the state's largest School District get to pick a candidate to fill an open seat on the school board Tuesday. Four candidates are running for the seat being vacated by Doug Morrison, who's term expires next month.
Former Teacher Carol Robinson says she's still concerned about teacher pay...Randy Dopperpuhl, who works as a Minnehaha County Case Manager says part of his goal is ensuring equal opportunity for all students. Dimitrios Gliarmis is a former city Police Officer and retail employee, focused on improving Sioux Falls 80 percent graduation rate. Cynthia Mickelson is an Attorney and businesswoman. She says among other things, community outreach and workforce development is important.
The board oversees the Superintendent and a 300 million dollar budget. The district serves nearly 24 thousand students.
