SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - A man is suffering from a life-threatening skull fracture after police say he was beaten with a baseball bat.

Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said three suspects came into the 56-year-old man's unlocked home around 4 p.m.Sunday, on the 1400 block of N. Main Avenue, and beat him for two minutes.

The three suspects left after searching the home for another person who was not there.

A witness told police that two of the three suspects had masks covering their faces, and recognized the third person without a mask.

Police were able to find the unmasked man around 8:30 p.m. near the 3500 block of N. 8th Avenue inside a car that matched a description from the witness.

Officers arrested 24-year-old Sonny Bear Thunder of Sioux Falls for aggravated assault and first degree burglary.

The other two suspects have not been found.

Clemens said the victim's injury will require surgery.
