SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) The University of South Dakota on Thursday broke ground for the Discovery District, a cutting-edge research park in Sioux Falls.
Governor Daugaard and a host of VIP's wielded the honorary shovels at the 80-acre site in the northwestern part of South Dakota's largest city, adjacent to USD University Center.
The first building is expected to be finished in the fall of 2018 - the first of 26 planned buildings. USD officials predict that Discovery District could eventually employ thousands of people.
