SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office identifies the victim in Tuesday morning's single car accident on Rice Street as 55-year-old Paul Henry Hauck of Brandon.
Captain Mike Walsh with the Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office says Hauck was westbound when he lost control of his 1989 Honda Prelude and hit a steel, electric structure.
When first responders arrived, just after 3 this morning, the vehicle was on fire. They learned that there was a single occupant inside.
Almost five hours laters, while authorities were investigating the first accident, there was a two-car collision just east of the original crash site at the intersection of Six Mile Road and Holly, which is what Rice Street turns into.
Walsh says injuries to one victim are minor and injuries to the second are serious but non-life threatening. The second victim was transported to a hospital.
Walsh says it's possible both accidents were caused by a medical emergency but the investigations continue
