WASHINGTON, D.C. (KELO AM) Growing support for Merrick Garland as a potential FBI Director is coming from unusual quarters, including South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds (R).
"We disagreed with him in terms of being the right person for the Supreme Court, but he might very well be the right person to be director of the FBI," Rounds opines on KELO Radio's Greg Belfrage Show.
This mini-groundswell for President Trump to consider former President Obama's snubbed Supreme Court nominee really started with Utah's two Republican Senators, Orrin Hatch and Mike Lee.
Senator Rounds say Garland might gather bi-partisan support.
"He would be one of those individuals who clearly both Republicans and Democrats appreciated as an individual and as a forthright and honest man," says Rounds.
