WASHINGTON, D.C. (KELO AM) South Dakota's John Thune is part of the Republican Leadership so is expected to help carry the ball in the U.S. Senate for replacing Obamacare.

He'll be joining the working group put together by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Senator Thune has reportedly already tinkered with changing earlier House language to better help low-income and elderly people with tax credits.

Thune says that Congress must repeal and replace Obamacare.

"..The House of Representatives has taken a critical step in delivering relief for the American people..In the Senate, we will continue our work to build on the House's progress.."

Obamacare replacement will be far from a slam dunk in the Senate, with both moderate and very conservatitive members expressing concerns about the House version.
