SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A traffic stop yesterday aftenoon at 10th and Van Eps resulted in charges of kidnapping, possession of methamphetamine, child endangerment and aggravated eluding.
Sioux Falls Police say the driver was stopped on an arrest warrant. When he got out of the car, a male juvenile passenger got behind the wheel and sped off.
The car eventually stopped at Austin and Blauvelt where the juvenile male fled on foot. He left the car in reverse and it rolled backward down the street until it hit an unmarked police car.
A juvenile female passenger in the back seat got out with the first driver's six year old daughter and ran. The vehicle rolled over the female passenger's foot but she still tried throwing the six year old over a fence in an attempt to flee police. She was arrested for kidnapping, child endangerment, fleeing and obstructing police. She was treated for her injured foot.
The juvenile male was arrested after a foot pursuit for kidnapping, child endangerment, possession of meth, aggravated eluding, grand theft, fleeing and obstructing police.
The six year old was turned over to her mother. Police have not released the name of the girl's father, the original driver in the case.
