SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) The Sioux Falls Annexation Task Force held its first public meeting on Tuesday at the main library downtown.

Everyone was invited, but most especially people living in unannexed areas that the city may have its eyes on. There are dozens, some islands surrounded by the city limits.

Some folks in these neighborhoods are afraid of the money it will cost them if the city moves to take them over.

The next meeting is April 25th also at the downtown Library.  The task force is looking at the process of annexation, not at any specific areas.

Upcoming Annexation Task Force meetings could affect residents in Martindale, Split Rock Heights, Pine Lake Hills, Prairie Meadows and Skyline Drive subdivisions.

Meeting times:

Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 2 - 3:30 p.m.

Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 2- 3:30 p.m.

Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 2 - 3:30 p.m.

All meetings will be held at the downtown library. The task force is made up of public officials and private citizens from the city, Lincoln County and Minnehaha County.
