SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Robbery, guns and meth all rolled into one early yesterday morning in a home robbery in western Minnehaha County.
Captain Jason Gearman, with the Sheriff's Office, says the robbers made off with credit cards, cash and guns. Gearman says it was not long after that the robbers started ringing up thousands of dollars in purchases. That included three CO2 pellet guns that resemble automatic weapon.
Gearman says later in the day police stopped 30-year-old Aaron Lee Swenson of Sioux Fall in a stolen Chevy pickuo on North Cliff Avenue.
Gearman says that arrest led deputies and officers to a Sioux Falls hotel and 19-year-old Anthoney Lee Beck. Gearman says Beck hid drug needles in the stocking cap he was wearing and a police officer got stuck by one.
Swenson is charged with identity theft, grand theft, third degree burglary, receiving stolen property and possession of methamphetamine.
Beck is charged with identity theft, third degree burglary, receiving stolen property and possession of methamphetamine.
Gearman says authorities have recovered the guns taken in the original burglary.
