SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A girl was treated for non-life threatening injuries and a 24-year-old woman was arrested for DWI and aggravated eluding in a series of events that started when the woman hit a utility pole in a West 41st Street parking lot last night.
Police say a witness got the license plate of the car allegedly driven by Sarah Ann Johnson, which was later found near South Minnesota Avenue and I-229. As patrol officers tried stopping the car the driver fled north on I-229.
The suspect vehicle was found on East 3rd Street after hitting a car driven by the girl.
Authorities arrested Johnson at her home. She's in the Minnehaha County Jail on charges of aggravated eluding, felony hit-and-run and DWI.
Police say it's the third vehicle-utility pole crash in as many nights.
