UPDATED: Person of interest sought in homicide investigation

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Sioux Falls Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in an apartment building near West 13th Street and South Spring Avenue. The victim in this case has been identified as Alicia Rhae Jumping Eagle. A 33 year old Sioux Falls resident.

The Sioux Falls Police Department is attempting to locate a person of interest in this case in Irving Duane Jumping Eagle. Jumping Eagle is a 43 year old, Native American Male, 5'9", 190 pounds, with a shaved head. He was last seen at approximately 1:00 p.m. on Monday at a gas station near Streeter, North Dakota, where he asked to use their bathroom to clean up and had noticeable blood on his body.

He was last seen driving a black 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix with SD license plates 1V8805.

The investigation into the matter is ongoing. It began Monday at the Spring Centere Apartments located near downtown off of Minnesota Avenue. Neighbors say they began noticing a police presences as early as 11AM. One witness told KSFY TV the investigation seemed to focus on a unit which housed a young couple and a 2 year old boy. 

More details are expected during Monday's media briefing.
