SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) Booming Sioux Falls was still about $58 million lower than a year ago in building permits at the end of the first quarter.

But City Permits Chief Butch Warrington revealed that a "big one" may be coming to get the city back on a record track.

"I've heard some rumblings that there is about a $100 million project coming into Sioux Falls. Now I don't know any specifics yet," teased Warrington on KELO Radio's It's Your Business Show with Bill Zortman Monday morning. Zortman tried to wheedle more information out of Warrington, but he wasn't giving, saying he was "sworn to secrecy."   He said there may be an announcement before the end of June.

Warrington said the first quarter of 2017 ended with a total of $135 million in new building valuation.

"I think we are going to have a really strong year again. Looks like it's going to be an awesome year again," predicted Warrington,

Warrington, earlier this year, took over from Ron Bell, who retired after nearly 39 years at the helm of the building permits process in Sioux Falls.
