Suspect rams police cars in short-lived escape

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A 28-year-old Sioux Falls man faces many charges after ramming his car betweeen two police squad cars in the parking lot of the Minnehaha County Administration building Sunday night.

Officer Sam Clemens says police tried stopping Shawn Damel Kudingo when they found him driving a car without license plates.  Police cornered him in the parking lot but Kudingo rammed the squad cars in front and back of him and managed to get away.  

Clemens say Kudingo just missed hitting an officer with his vehicle.

Clemens says Kudingo drove to near First Street and Sherman Avenue where he abandoned his car and ran through the neighborhood.

Kudingo found an open door to a home, went in and locked the door behind him.  A female occupant was home alone and managed to open the door to allow officers in.

After a brief scuffle, Kudingo was arrested for burglary, aggravated assault against law enforcement, aggravated eluding, obstruction, reckless driving, resisting arrest, no driver's license and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

The were no serious injuries in the incident.
