SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) Despite a little road rash, the best thing that could have happened to Wally the pig was falling off that truck onto Interstate 90 in Sioux Falls.
Wally is falling into a life of leisure at a farm sanctuary in Wisconsin.
"Oh, this will be his forever home so once he's here he's here for his life," enthuses Kara Breci with the Soul Space Farm Sanctuary in New Richmond, Wisconsin.
Kara was born in Sioux Falls so feels like this was meant to be.
"Because my grandpa had a pig valve that kept him going for many years so maybe that was a thankyou to all the pigs out there," she jokes.
No slaughterhouse for Wally. His bacon's been saved.
Earlier this month, there were reports of a pig traveling the wrong way on I-90. It was Wally. Law enforcement corralled him and took him to the Sioux Falls Humane Society.
And the rest is porcine history.
