SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A Sioux Falls man was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison for Cyberstalking a city woman on the personal section of Craigslist.
55-year-old Eugene Ogden posted ads that invited men to the victim's home for sex. The ads included the victim's address and a her photo.
The victim contacted Sioux Falls Police after strange men came to her home says they were responding to a Craigslist ad for sex.
U.S. Attorney Randy Seiler said "this is Cyberstalking at its ugliest. This type of dangerous, vindictive behavior is hard to comprehend, but unfortunately this type of malicious stunt is easy to execute in the cyber world. The sentence handed down serves as a reminder that these cases will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law."
After serving his sentence Ogden will have three years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay $100 to the Federal Crime Victim's Fund.
Ogden was indicted by a federal grand jury last August and plead guilty in November.
