Sioux Falls, SD (KELO.com) - The downtown business scene is about to get a little more variety with the addition of a hardware store.
Kevin Nyberg says he's bringing a Nyberg's Ace Hardware to the old Sid's Crown Liquor and Texaco building near 11th and Phillips downtown. Work on the building has already started and owners are aiming for a mid-summer opening. Since the buildings are on the National Historical Register, don't expect to many cosmetic upgrades other than a few signs on the exterior.
Nyberg says there is a tremendous amount of energy downtown and he's hoping to tap into that with the new location, which will be smaller than his other stores but will have some unique offerings tailored to those who live and work in the area.
DTSF's Brienne Manor echoed those comments, saying the city's heartbeat begins in the downtown area.
Nyberg's Ace also has locations at 10th and Sycamore, 41st and Minnesota, 12th and Kiwanis, and 41st and Sertoma. A location at 85th and Louise is also in the works.
