SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM / KSFY-TV) - The flu is impacting the nation, with over 650 cases in South Dakota right now. Doctor Tracy Jones at Sanford says it's not too late to get the shot...even with the shot there's a chance you could get sick..."however, those cases tend to see less symptoms" said Doctor Jones.
The Department of Health says cases normally spike in February and March. So far, a total of three deaths have been reported as flu related in the state. All occurred in people who were over age 50.
