SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.COM) Sioux Falls City Council is looking for five citizen-volunteers to serve on the Districting Commission that will adjust district boundaries to reflect population growth.

The five members will be from each of the five council districts - the Southwest, Southeast, Northwest, Northeast, and Central districts. All applicants must be registered voters and live in the district for which they will serve. The Commission will meet several times to prepare a new districting plan and carve up a new map.

Applications are due to the City Clerk by 5 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2017.

The population in Sioux Falls has increased by more than 15 percent since the last redistricting in 2011.
