Chamber names new leader

Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - The Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce is under new leadership.

Beginning on Monday Jason Ball took over as President/CEO, replacing Evan Nolte.

Nolte is retiring after 37 years of service. He tells KELO Radio's Its Your Business that he feels confident passing the baton. "[Jason's] great, we're impressed that he had the interest here. He's going to bring a tremendous amount of leadership." Energy, vitality, talent, and skill were other adjectives Nolte used to describe Ball.

Ball comes to Sioux Falls after serving in a similar role for the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce. He holds an MBA from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.

One thing we won't see from Ball is a lot of drastic changes. "You can't come in and be successful making a lot of radical change really quickly," said Ball, adding that he will have a learning curve about the community since he does not have any ties to the area. He added that one key to his success in the position will be bringing people together, much like Nolte was able to do for nearly 4 decades.

The Sioux Falls Area Chamber serves over 2,200 members, making it one of the largest such organizations in the United States.
