Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - Authorities are investigating an early Saturday morning fire on the city’s west side.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was called just after 1:00 Saturday morning. Arriving crews found smoke and flames coming from a mobile home.
Fire crews had the fire out in about fifteen minutes and rescued a pet.
The fire was mainly contained to one room of the house but there was smoke damage throughout. Red Cross personnel responded to assist the resident.
The home did not have a residential sprinkler system or working smoke detectors. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue reminds residents to check their smoke detectors monthly.
