Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - A century old downtown building will be getting new life thanks to new ownership.
Jodi Schwan of the Sioux Falls Business Journal tells KELO Radio's Its Your Business that Dr Rich Brue has purchased the building at 212 S Main Ave with the intent to renovate it and expand it to the east.
Schwan says the expansion will take the building from just over 7,000 square feet to nearly 20,000. Several businesses have already expressed interest in moving into the building, including retail shops and restaurants.
"[Dr Brue] has some really nice, ambitious plans for the building, which is over 100 years old," said Schwan. Part of the restoration process will including bringing back its historic look. Construction will begin in a few weeks, the first businesses should open later this year.
The historic building has had several different uses over the years, Sioux Falls Rubber Stamp and Frizly's Tool Works among others.
