WASHINGTON, DC (KELO AM) South Dakota all-Republican Congressonal Delegation is praising President Trump for reversing Obama Administration decisions on the Keystone XL and Dakota Access Pipelines.

"President Trump has taken quick action to free up employment and economic opportunities by making it easier to complete these shovel-ready infrastructure projects," says Senator John Thune. Thune says former President Obama impeded progress on Keystone for eight years.

Senator Mike Rounds applauds the decision, even as he promises to continue to work with those involved to address their concerns.

"President Trump understands that pipelines provide an effective and efficient means of transportating natural resources and meeting our country's energy need." says Rounds.

U.S. Representative Kristi Noem echoes Rounds and Thune.

"President Trump's actions showcase his commitment to energy indepdendence and I look forward to working with him as we move our country closer to a made-in-America energy supply."

The Keystone XL will take crude oil across western South Dakota. The Dakota Access will move oil across eastern South Dakota, right to the west and south of Sioux Falls. Sometimes violent protests against Dakota Access have been going on for months near Cannonball, North Dakota.
