PIERRE, SD (KELO AM) A South Dakota State Lawmaker will be investigated for having sex with a legislative intern.
26-year-old Republican State Representative Mathew Wollman of Madison admits to having sex with two legislative interns.
"In 2015, I made the improper decision to have consensual sexual relations with one intern and then again in 2016, I made the same unprofessional decision," Wollman tells KELO Radio News. Wollman says that the interns were adults over the age of 21.
Wollman says he wanted to tell the truth because of all the rumors and allegations swirling around.
"It's hard for me to make this admission to the public, but I wanted to stand before you today, and confess the truth, before any other misguided and unfortunate allegations would surface," explains Wollman.
The Select Committee on Discipline and Expulsion will be convened in Pierre to investigate Wollman's behavior. He says he will abide by whatever lawmakers decide.
