Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) - Mayor Mike Huether and members of the steering committee  braved cold temps to turn dirt for the new City Administration Building. City Council Vice Chair and Southeast representative Rick Kiley says the $21.9 million dollar project will be done at a fixed price. If the work comes in under budget, the City will retain those funds.

It's the first new administration facility for the city since 1937. Kiley says it will feature room for expansion, areas for collaboration between city employees and citizens, and a modular concept.

The building will be home to what he calls a "one-stop shop", consolidating several city departments currently housed in other rented orr leased facilities. Look for consruction at Van Eps Park and Dakota Avenue, between 6th and 8th Streets. Improvements are also planned for Van Eps Park in conjunction with the building.
