Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - New information is being released in an apparent homicide in Sioux Falls. Officers were called to an apartment complex near East 8th Street and North Cleveland Avenue about 9:15 Friday night. A call came in from a juvenile complaining of a strong odor coming from an apartment. Responding officers found 28-year-old Jamie Lee Wounded Arrow of Sioux Falls in the apartment. Friends say she was a transgender woman. Wounded Arrow was a very active member of the group Sioux Falls Two-Spirit and Allies. Members of the organization say Wounded Arrow was born a male but had transitioned to a female. Sioux Falls Police say evidence inside the apartment reveals the death to be a homicide.
