SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Electors from across the nation will cast votes today for President and Vice-President.

South Dakota Republican Party Chair Pam Roberts is a substitute elector for Lieutenant Governor Matt Michals who has a family obligation today.

Roberts says she'll vote for Donald Trump.  She feels that it's really the elector's job to vote the wished of the people of South Dakota and he overwhelmingly won the state in November.

Roberts says this is her second turn as a fill-in elector.

She says she was working in Bill Janklow's office and he was one of South Dakota's electors for George W. Bush.  She says Janklow had to be out of the state during the electoral vote so he appointed Roberts to be his replacement.

Roberts says she been getting plenty of advice over her vote.

She says some people have been tweeting that she should vote her conscience and that's what she plans to do.

Congress meets January 6 to count the electoral votes and certify the results.

The other electors include Governor Dennis Daugaard and Senator John Thune.
