SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Slowly, parts of streets and sidewalks are opening around the Copper Lounge collapse area.
City engineer Chad Huwe says Phillips Avenue is open between 11th and 10th Streets and 10th Street is open between Phillips and Main Avenues.
A left hand turn from Phillips onto westbound 10th Street is possible.
10th Street is closed from 2nd to Phillips Avenues. Phillips is closed from 9th to 10th Streets. They'll remian closed until the remaining at-risk structure can be safely removed.
Huwe advises avoiding the site altogether. But if you do come down, drive slowly and carefully, keeping your head on a swivel to watch for working crews, machinery and other activities around a working site.
Sidewalks are open along the west side of Phillips and the south side of 10th.
If you are traveling through downtown from the east, use 8th or 14th Streets.
