SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO-AM) -- Two people remain trapped in the old Copper Lounge building at 10th and Phillips in downtown Sioux Falls.
Authorities say they’re communicating with a female victim they believe lives in the building. The other victim is thought to be a construction worker. The building was being renovated for a new Lewis Drug.
Sections of 10th Street and Phillips Avenue near the collapse are closed to traffic. Police say those streets may remain closed into tomorrow. They are asking you to avoid the area so rescue crews can do their work.
Officials also say there are additional walls of the building that will come down. Some may fall on their own, others may be brought down as part of rescue efforts.
