Leaf drop-offs closing

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - This is your last weekend for fall cleanup, the city is closing the two leaf and branch drop-off sites on Sunday.

Landfill Superintendent Dustin Hansen says cost three dollars a load for cars, pickups, S-U-V's or two-wheel trailers.  Large loads, lawn service companies and commercial businesses will not be accepted at the drop-off sites and must go directly to the Sioux Falls Landfill.

Hansen says loads must be tarped so leaves aren't blowing out enroute to the drop-off site.  Leaves must be removed from plastic bags.  Bags, large trees, stumps, rubble and household  garbage will not be accepted.

The sites are at 1015 East Chambers Street buy the Househols Hazardous Waste Facility and at 100 North Lyon Boulevard just west of the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds.

The drop-off sites are open from nine to five today and tomorrow and from noon to five on Sunday.
