SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A father was coming to his daughter's aid as she was fighting with her boyfriend but both turned on dad after the boyfriend pulled a knife.
Officer Sam Clemens says 22-year-old John Kelly James Junior is accused of threatening dad.
Clemens says the father was defending himself against the knife-wielding James when his daughter got a baseball bat and hit her father in the back. Clemens says she was apparently trying to defend her boyfriend.
There were witnesses who called the authorities and James fled the scene. The daughter was with her father when police arrived and James was arrested at another nearby residence.
James and 22-year-old Tabitha Kasasha White Horse are charged with aggravated assault.
Dad suffered a cut to his forehead and was treated at the hospital. It's unclear how he suffered his wound.
