SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) The new leader of the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, Jason Ball, can't wait to start brainstorming with local business leaders to keep the energy going.
"I think a lot of people see chambers as being in the public policy business or in the advocacy business. I very much view chamber work to be in the people business," Ball tells KELO Radio.
Ball is looking to build on the progress sheparded by outgoing Chamber CEO Evan Nolte, retiring after 37 years at the helm. Ball has served as the leader of the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce in Hutchinson, Kansas since 2012. He has an MBA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Ball is impressed by Sioux Falls.
"The dedication to economic growth that I see. There is a wonderful, wonderful base of entrepreneurship that is going on in this community," says Ball.
Ball takes over Februaray 1. The Sioux Falls Chamber has more than 2,200 members.
