SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls first snow storm of the season is now history.
The National Weather Service says that accumulations range from 5 inches northside up to 7 inches in southeastern Sioux Falls in Lincoln County.
Meteorologist Brad Temeyer said early Friday morning that he wouldn't be surprised if wind gusts approached 50 miles an hour in the late morning or early afternoon.
He says temperatures Friday would stay at or below freezing. Lows Friday night would dip into the mid teens and continue to be uninspired throughout the weekend
Roads were snow covered and slippery throughout eastern South Dakota, slow down.
Street Manager Galynn Huber says there are over 200 city employees and contractors are on the job.
Sioux Falls sidewalks must be cleared 48 hours after the snow ends or you risk getting a ticket. Do not put snow from the driveway or sidewalk onto the street.
A winter storm warning was in effect south and west of Moody County, including Sioux Falls. A blizzard warning was in effect north and east of Moody County including Brookings, Aberdeen and Watertown.
