SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) Authorities have dropped the most serious charges against a Sioux Falls man initially accused of abducting a teenager off the street and then raping her at his apartment.
The Argus Leader reports that Jason Becker has only been charged with fourth-degree rape and prosecutors didn't say why.
Fourth degree means only that he allegedly had sex with a minor and no force or threats were involved, which sure puts a different spin on the original story of a girl walking from Lincoln High being hustled into a car, assaulted, and then eventually escaping from her attackers clutches.
The investigation is continuing.
