SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Candidate debates are in full swing this week in South Dakota and Democrat Jay Williams anticipates big rewards in tomorrow night's forum on Public Television.

William says the upcoming debates and forums are excellent ways to get in front of South Dakotans. He says that's his campaign's biggest weakness is that nobody knows who he is.

Williams says the division among Republicans over Donald Trump's candidacy may highlight his campaign as a welcome alternative.

Williams says some voters might believe it's time to put some Democrats in Washington D.C.  He says that would allow the Republicans some time to reset and comeback as the strong, great, wonderful party that it once was.

The live candidate forum starts Thursday night at 8 on South Dakota Focus on South Dakota Public Television and online at SDPB.org/FOCUS.  The forum will be moderated by South Dakota Focus host Stephanie Rissler.

Williams and Senator John Thune get back in action Friday night on KELO T-V.
