SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A study by career website Zippia shows that most of the top-paying jobs in South Dakota are in the medical field.

Johnson says when you're looking at the top paying jobs in South Dakota, he says it's not really surprising to see that many of them are medical related. Anything from psychiatrists to pediatricians to general prectitioners, all earn around $200,000 which he says is a pretty hefty paycheck for folks in South Dakota where the cost of living is low.
Zippia looked at Bureau of Labor statistics for the study. He says essentially the study looked at certain fields and their average salaries
Johnson says eight of the top ten jobs in South Dakota are medical related. He says just about across the board you'll see anything that's medical related is going to pay the most.
He says sometimes you see business leaders, like CEO's or market managers, in the top ten but he doesn't see that in South Dakota. Johnson says South Dakota’s results are in line with neighboring states.
