SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police made an arrest in a two week old incident where an ex-boyfriend fired a handgun at the new boyfriend in a car chase near 12th and Marion Road.
Sergeant Paul Creviston says 18-year-old Gilberto Rivera of Sioux Falls was arrested Friday for aggravated assault.
Creviston says the two men showed at the new and ex-girlfriend's home where the meeting went from chilly to Rivera producing a handgun.
The boyfriend left the scene and Rivera followed him in his car. Creviston says Rivera allegedly hit the new boyfriend's car and fired a couple of rounds from a handgun. The boyfriend got into a two car accident and Rivera fled.
No one was injured.
As the investigation progressed, police came in contact with Rivera Friday and arrested him.
