SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A 29-year-old special education teacher in the West Central School disitrict is accused of having sexual contact with a 15-year-old male student over the summer.
Sergeant Jason Gearmen with the Minnehaha County Sheriff's office says Kari Boll is charged with three counts of fourth degree rape.
Gearman says that just because someone is charged with rape doesn't mean that it's a forced-type situation. He says in this case its a statutory rape where the victim can't give consent because of their age.
Gearman says while victim was a student of Boll's, he is not diminished but needed additional tutoring.
A tip in the case came from a third-party, mandatory reporter.
He says the investigation also include McCook County where some of the inappropriate contact took place during the summer
