SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The newest exhibit at the Kirby Science Discovery Center at the Washington Pavilion is one of the largest investments in the Center's history.

Pavilion President Darrin Smith says "Space: An Out-of-this World Experience" is the beginning of an ambitious future for the Center.

Smith says the goal is to be the leading science center in the Midwest in three years and the leading center in the United States in five.

The space exhibit is hands-on allowing visitors to experience traveling to, living and working in space.

It includes 15 new exhibits and the second floor gallery has been expanded for improved patron access and the new out-of-this-world programming.

Center Director Erica Lacey says it's exciting to bring a gallery that creates wondermont and inspiration for visitors.  She says the exhibit focuses on current and future exploration through "immersive experiences."
