SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A Centerville man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for raping a child in his home almost four years ago.
35-year-old Benjamin Thomas was convicted of aggravated incest, sexual contact with a child under 16, sexual exploitation and third degree rape.
Attorney General Marty Jackley says "Thomas' conviction and sentences involve very serious offenses against a child."
Jackley added that "child sexual abuse cases, by their very nature, present challenges for prosecutors and investigators and they should be commended for their important and tireless work."
This case was investigated by the Turner County Sheriff’s Office and the Division of Criminal Investigation and prosecuted by the Turner County States Attorney and the Attorney General’s Office.
