SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- About 14 percent of the people who get health care from Sioux Falls Public Health have private insurance.
That mix is absolutely essential according to the City's Public Health Director Jill Franken, who spoke to the City Council yesterday.
"We couldn't even keep our doors open if we were just taking patients who were uninsured," Franken said.
The Council is holding hearings on Mayor Paul TenHaken's proposed near half-billion dollar city budget.
