SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a flash flood warning in southwestern Minnehaha County and northwestern Lincoln County in South Dakota until 6:15 PM.
Up to two inches of rain has already fallen. If roads are flooded, authorities say it is best to turn around and find an alternative route.
KELO.com News drove through considerable water on the outside southbound lane of Louise Ave. by the Empire Mall about 4:45 p.m. Sioux Falls Police were blocking the southbound outside lanes of traffic at 43rd and Louise and the northbound outside lanes on Louise Ave. just south of 49th St. and Louise Ave.
There were reports of street flooding on Twitter at 6th and Cliff and 49th and Racket.
Authorities have been aiding those stranded in flooded roadways.
