HARTFORD, S.D. (KELO.com) -- There have been eyewitness reports and tweets of possible tornadoes near Sioux Falls and Hartford.
Carolyn Zortman says she is certain she saw a tornado southwest of Hartford about 5:30 p.m. today. She said it was maybe ten miles away. She said the funnel did not touch the ground and appeared to move west toward Humboldt.

There were several tweets on Twitter around 6 p.m. of a possible tornado west of the Sioux Falls Airport.
The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls says there were two small system by each other that created the funnels. The NWS says in this situation, the funnels typically are short-lived and not touch down on the ground.
KELO.com News did not hear any warning sirens in downtown Sioux Falls.
