SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Democratic candidate for Congress Tim Bjorkman differs with many of his fellow Democrats on eliminating the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

Bjorkman says proposals to eliminate ICE are "irresponsible", "reckless", and "foolhardy."

"Eliminating ICE would throw open our borders, exposing our nation to a flood of illegal immigrants, the free flow of illegal drugs, and other untold harm."

But, Bjorkman doesn't want people to think his strong endorsement of the federal agency, is in any way an endorsement of separating children from their parents at the border. He says he strongly opposes that policy.

Bjorkman is running against Republican Dusty Johnson and Independent Ron Wieczorek this November to replace Kristi Noem, who is running for governor.
