SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - (KELO.com) 

LANE CLOSURES – 41ST STREET & KIWANIS AVENUE 

Beginning on Monday, June 11, 2018, the outside westbound lane on West 41st Street and one of the dual eastbound to northbound left turn lanes on West 41st Street will be closed at the South Kiwanis Avenue intersection. One westbound through lane and both eastbound through lanes on West 41st Street will be maintained during this work. Additionally, the outside northbound and outside southbound lanes of South Kiwanis Avenue will be closed north of West 41st Street. One northbound, one southbound, and one left turn lane will be maintained during this phase of work. Access to businesses will be maintained. 

This is the next phase of a project to upgrade the ADA accessible curb ramps and sidewalk at select intersections along the West 41st Street and South Minnesota Avenue corridors. 

Work at this location is anticipated to be complete in approximately two weeks. 

STREET CLOSURE - 12TH STREET

BETWEEN CLEVELAND AVENUE TO BAHNSON AVENUE 

Beginning on Monday, June 11, 2018, East 12th Street will be closed from Cleveland Avenue to Bahnson Avenue. This is Phase 1 of the East 12th Street Reconstruction project. 

Work will include mill and overlay of the existing asphalt, spot curb and gutter repair, and minor utility repairs. The existing sidewalk radius at all intersections will be removed and reinstalled to bring the intersections into ADA compliance. 

This project is scheduled to be complete in late August

 Rotary Park and the Big Sioux River

Beginning on Monday, June 11, 2018, as part of the City of Sioux Falls improvements to Rotary Park and construction of the new pedestrian bridge over the Big Sioux River the flows in the Big Sioux River will be reduced. Work within the river channel will be necessary and in order to do this safely, the City will be reducing flows in the Big Sioux River for approximately one week. 

Once the contractor has constructed the coffer dams for the pedestrian bridge abutments, the river flows will return to normal. The City and contractor will make every effort to return flows to normal as soon as possible. 

In conjunction with the bridge construction, portable canoe/kayak portages will be installed along the east side of the river. Signs will be installed indicating where the portages are located.
