SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) 82-year-old Otto Logan of Sioux Falls hadn't seen his brother Robert since he was ten. The large family was separated in hard times. Robert was killed in combat in World War II.
That ate at Otto for years and he kept asking the VA for help to honor his brother.
On Wednesday at a well-attended ceremony at the VA Medical Center in Sioux Falls, Senator John Thune (R-SD) presented Otto four medals his brother earned back in the war, including the Purple Heart.
Otto's persistence paid off.
The Korean War era veteran has volunteered at the Sioux Falls facility, five days a week for years.
