SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- The public is invited to attend the Installation Ceremony for Sioux Falls Mayor-elect Paul TenHaken at Carnegie Town Hall, 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 15.
City Clerk Tom Greco hopes for a good turnout for the changing of the guard.
"We haven't transitioned to a new mayor in eight years. It will be a nice ceremony. I think it's a great celebration."
Greco says outgoing Mayor Mike Huether will open the ceremony, welcoming everyone and will invite his replacement TenHaken, to come forward with his family. Judge Robin Houwman will administer the oath.
After TenHaken officially becomes the new mayor, he will make some short remarks, and then take his place at the dais and help with the installations of City Council Members-elect Christine M. Erickson, Rick Kiley, and newcomers, Janet Brekke and Curt Soehl.
If you can't make it in person, KELO Radio will be streaming the ceremony 'live' from Facebook.
