SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- It's another sign of spring: The sump pump runs.
The City of Sioux Falls reminds homeowners to drain them outside their homes.
The city says discharging sump pumps into the sanitary sewer system can result in sewage backups.
Public works director Mark Cotter says it's also illegal to attach sump pumps to floor drains or connect them to the City’s sanitary sewer system.
