WASHINGTON (Midwest Communications) - United States President Donald Trump agreed to launch coordinate strikes against Syria with allies on Friday. These strikes are a retaliation to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s poison gas attack that killed around 60 people last week in Syria.

The United States allies in the attacks are France and Britain. The combined forces are prepared to respond until Syria no longer use chemical weapons on its citizens.

President Trump did not specifically state the targets but did say the targets were associated with chemical weapon capabilities.

Trump is also putting pressure on Russia and Iran to remove their support for Syria as he asked, "what kind of a nation wants to be associated with the mass murder of innocent men and women and children?"

This strike does not come as a surprise as Trump tweeted a number of tweets on Thursday on the issue. One of those tweets read.

"Never said when an attack on Syria would take place. Could be very soon or not so soon at all! In any event, the United States, under my Administration, has done a great job of ridding the region of ISIS. Where is our “Thank you America?”

It does not appear that there are any follow up strikes currently planned based on the available information at the time.
