Early morning fire at Nites Inn

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) – Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a fire at the Nites Inn Hotel on West 12^th Street early this morning. Sioux Falls Police were on scene and reported heavy flames coming from the building.

The first arriving fire crew found room No. 22 in flames. The fire was able to be confined to the room with minor fire damage to the roof area. The fire was under control within twenty minutes of crews arriving on scene. There was smoke damage throughout the rooms in the east wing of the complex.

All occupants from the hotel were able to exit the hotel, but one person sustained injuries from the fire and was transported by ambulance.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
