SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- The Summitt League, NAIA and other tournaments just don't score on the hardwood in Sioux Falls.
According to Nancy Savage of Child's Play Clothing and Books at 11th and Phillips, the tournaments are also good for downtown.
"They were looking and buying," Savage said. "So that was different. Sometimes we get events downtown that don't really benefit a lot of the retailers, but this one is a big one for us."
Savage says books, toys, clothes and items for Easter were big sellers.
Some big events like PheasantFest, according to Savage, do less well.
But they're all important.
"We really appreciate all the tournaments, all of the events that the City brings in," Savage said. "It's really exciting for us, especially this month. It just feels like a lot's going on."
Savage is also on the board of directors of Downtown Sioux Falls.
